Best Home Hair Color Kits

Okay, can anyone tell me what home hair coloring kit I can use that actually lasts? I started getting gray hairs in my early twenties and have been coloring my hair at home ever since. I started in salons, but that got too expensive. Now I color it myself at home. I have tried several different kits from the cheapest to the most expensive. The results are always the same. Gray hairs return within about a week. I am looking for a hair color kit that will last longer, so I don’t have to color my hair as often. Suggestions?

Right now I am using the Revlon ColorStay Hair Color Kit. To be honest, it is the least expensive kit available and I trust the Revlon name. I figure if I have to color my hair as often as I do, I’m not going to spend a ton on each kit. That would add up pretty quickly. My hair is dark brown and it’s all one color (no highlights or anything). When the gray shows through, it really stands out. Even after I color it, I can tell which hairs are gray. They aren’t 100% covered. I’m concerned that coloring my hair so often is too hard on my hair. There are so many home hair coloring kits available, I don’t know which ones truly work best. I’d be happy if I found something that lasts at least three or four weeks. I know there are special shampoos, conditioners, and other hair care products that preserve hair color for longer. I have gotten great results from the Enjoy line that is sulfate free. It is a bit pricey, but I only have one head of hair and I’d like to keep it as long as possible. Having a good at home coloring kit would be great.
