Fashion Riding Boots for Women
Leather Riding Boots
This season, the shoe to have is a pair of tall riding boots. Actually, it seems like these are a necessity for any wardrobe every season. These boots look great when made with good quality leather. Don't skimp on these. If you take good care of them, they will last you several years. You can always tell when someone is wearing cheap or fake leather boots. These boots are available in so many colors including black, brown, gray, tan, and green. As much as I love color, I stick with the safe blacks, browns, and tans. I have my eyes on a gray pair of Frye tall boots. They are so cute, but they are about $350. I'm waiting for them to go on sale.
How Tall Are Riding Boots?
Ideally, fashion riding boots for women go just below the knee. I like mine to be about 2 or 3 inches below my knee so they aren't rubbing on my knee cap. Riding boots can be mid-calf, high shin, up to your knee, or over your knee. I've seen cute riding boots at every height, so choose what you like best. Keep in mind, with riding boots you want a classic look that won't go out of style after one season.
Height of Your Riding Boots' Heels
Riding boots come with heel heights in everything from flat to 4 inches or higher. I prefer not to have too high of a heel on my riding boots. I don't want to look frumpy, but I also want the boots to be comfortable. I like riding boots that have about a one to three inch heel. I choose my heel height according to the event I am attending.
What to Wear With Riding Boots
My favorite look is pairing riding bootswith skinny jeans and a big, loose sweater. I never thought I could wear skinny jeans, but I have found some that are flattering. The denim is slightly stretchy and the loose sweater covers areas I might normally be self conscious about. Riding boots also look really cute with tights and a short skirt or dress. The nice thing about these boots is that they are so versatile. That is why I suggest going a bit neutral with your color and low with your heel height. It will allow you to pair the boots with a lot more and they'll be suitable for a larger variety of professional and social engagements.
Leather Riding Boots for Women
You should start with a boot brand that is known for making good quality boots that are comfortable and that will last. You may pay a bit more up front, but it is totally worth it. Good quality boots look better, fit more comfortably, and last longer. Brands like Born, Frye, Sam Edelman, and Timberland are good places to start. Some of the cutest riding boots I've seen are made by Born and Frye. Find what fits your style and your budget. Whatever you do, do not go another season without a great pair of riding boots.
